Tech Review - Arteck Backlit Wireless Keyboard

My reasons for purchase (review typed on this keyboard)

Typing on iOS devices can be difficult. Small screens on iPhones and the awkwardness of iPad screens compound this. Moreover, Apple endorsed solutions can be costly and sub-optimal.

I researched Keyboards for a long while before purchasing this one. The price was a significant determinant factor in this choice, as was the proportion of positive reviews for this product.

Positives
I have been using this now for over a month and think there are a number of important positive points, that compensate for a few minor criticisms, for consideration of the potential buyer.

My main attraction and continued love of this keyboard is the ease of which I can type onto three different devices so easily. I have it synced to my MacBook, iPad and iPhone. At a quick button press, I can alternate typing onto whichever device I need to turn my typing attention to. It saves a great deal of time from moving things around and I can have my mobile workspace set-up perfectly for my needs, centred around one keyboard.

This keyboard is lightweight and feature packed. For the price, I could not find a better alternative. The back light is an excellent feature that few others offer.

Negatives
There is some slight flex in the keyboard when typing rapidly. This does not distract significantly from use.

I am quite tech savvy, however, there are a few tricks that I need to refer to manual to at times, when syncing with other devices, for example, or for changing the backlight colour. Incidentally, I misplaced the manual, but to the credit of the excellent customer service support, they emailed it to me within a day.

Keyboard Feel
The keys have a satisfying press action. However, I love the keyboard on my 12 inch MacBook. Those keys have a very crisp and short depress range, and I am both lucky and different to most in being able to enjoy that. In essence, this keyboard has the feel of a more regular keyboard compared to MacBooks, in that the buttons do depress a reasonable amount. Most people will enjoy the feel of these keys.

Summary
Excellent for the price. Feature packed, lightweight and fit for most uses of a portable keyboard.
